Water ultrafiltration is a membrane filtration process designed for residential use. Ultrafiltration uses normal water pressure to push water through its semi-permeable membrane. Only only fresh clean water and dissolved minerals are able to pass through the membrane.

In the past, ultrafiltration was used primarily in medical facilities or other large municipal applications. Now it is available as a compact system for residential homes.

Modern urban living poses many challenges to the quality of drinking water due to greater industrial activity and chemical production. Water drawn from private wells, community water systems and municipal water treatment plants can all be adversely affected. Ultra water filtration is highly effective in removing bacteria, chlorine, sediment, cysts, foul tastes and orders.
